History
Alan Stewart our MD; was born in Ashton under Lyne, Lancashire in 1946. He has worked in the construction business since 1962, owns several motorcycles and plays a mean blues harmonica. In the mid 1970's Alan met and worked with legendary US studio designer Tom Hidley, when they were building a new studio for hit band "10cc". Tom and Alan went on to build over 60 top recording studios in 27 countries.
Armed with this specialist expertise and in-depth industry knowledge, Alan quickly became a reknown studio designer and builder in his own right - with corpoarte clients such as EMI Studios Abbey Road, the London Palladium, Shepperton Studios, Twickenham Film Studios, Magmasters, Angel Music Studios, Clear Cut, Molinaire, and Future Post in Soho, plus the BBC.
More recently, AVD FM has been involved in projects for educational and government bodies. Famous institutions such as City College Islington, Winchester College in Hampshire, Nescot College - Ewell, Surrey, Bath Spa University, Oakgrove School in Milton Keynes, Barking Abbey School of Music and Drama, Leeds College of Music, Feltham Young Offenders Institute in Middlesex, Govan Town Hall and the Colston Hall in Bristol have all benefited from out specialised knowledge and excellent acoustic design service.
